A RES OLUTION
WHEREAS, bids were received by the City Council on
April 29, 1969 for furnishing The City of Beaumont Water
Department requirements of liquid chlorine for one year,
beginning May.l, 1969 and ending April 30, 1970; and,
WHEREAS, Diamond Shamrock Chemical Company of Houston,
Texas, submitted a bid of $4.59 per 100 pounds, F.O.B. Beaumont,
Texas, which, after all bids had been tabulated, was the lowest
and best bid received by the City; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the
bid of Diamond Shamrock Chemical Company should be accepted and
contract entered into.with said Company for furnishing liquid
chlorine for the Water Department;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the bid of Diamond Shamrock Chemical Company be accepted,
and that the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to
execute on behalf of The City of Beaumont a contract with Diamond
Shamrock Chemical Company for furnishing The City of Beaumont
Water Department liquid chlorine for one year, beginning May 1,
1969 and ending April 30, 1970.
PASSED by the City Council this 13th day of May, 1969.
