WHEREAS, a petition duly signed by V1. H. Brooks, owner of Block Twenty—two (22) of the' Oakwood Addition -to the City of Beaumont, has been presented to the City Commis— sion _of_ the City of_ Beaumont .requesting that. such alley be closed and vacated. NOW, THEREFORE, BE I^1 ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: That the alley located in Block Twenty—two (22) of the Oakwood Addition to the City of Beaumont, be and the same is' hereby authorized to be vacated and closed, and that the title to such alley shall revert to and become the property of the respective owner of the land in said Block bordering on said alley, as pro— vided by law; provided, however, that the closing of this alley shall in no way affect the rights of the City as to placing and maintaining _t,h_erei.n_ of any s w eer or water lines or .any other ser— vice or utility of the City, or owner of property in said Block, all of which rights are hereby reserved. passed this the th day of October, A. WHEREAS, The City of Beaumont, pending the collection of current tax revenues, from all sources, being taxes for the year 1927, is with- out funds wherewith to pay its current obligations incurred and to be incurred for the operation of the several departments of the government and in order to acquire funds wherewith to defray -the current expenses of all departments of the government pending the collection of said revenues, it is necessary that the.City of Beaumont borrow money upon the faith and credit of said City, and to anticipate and pledge an equal portion of the current tax revenues of the City for the year 1927. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: - - - : SECTION I. - - - That J. Austin Barnes, Mayor of the City of Beaumont, be and he is hereby authorized too -forthwith prepare, or have prepared, and to execute, together with the City Clerk, and to be countersigned by the City Manager, legal and binding obligations of the City of Beaumont, in the form of and evidenced by Deficiency Warrants dated on the date or dates when negotiated,and delivered from time to time as herein- after provided, payable to "BEARER" on demand, bearing 6% interest from their date until paid, which said warrants shall b e and are here- by secured by the legal and binding pledges and hypothecation of EIGHTY-THREE THOUSAND AND N0/100 (03, 000.00) DOLIARS of the current tax revenues of the City of Beaumont, for the year 1927, as applied to the funds of the particular departments and in the amounts relat- ing to such departments as hereinafter set forth; the said Deficiency Warrants to be paid and retired out of the first tax revenues col- V Countp of Jefferson Y: Before me, the undersigned authority, on this day personally appeared------------------ --- - - _k wn me, who being by me duly sworn, on his oath de- poses and says, that he is the_ �- ------ _ _ _ of the BEA BEAUMONT JOURNAL, a newspaper published in said county; that a copy of the within and foregoing was published in said newspaper, such publication being on the following dates: -- __ _ _ _ ------------------ A.
