NOWgTE1EREFORE BE' IT- ORDAINED BY TIM CITY COLMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BE AUMONT =
Section l;
That there is hereby assessed against the several owners
of property and against their respective- property abutting._
upon Avenue C. from the North -side of -Crockett Street to the
South side of Irma Avenue; as a. tax two. -thirds (2/3): of the cost
of paving and gutter and incidental drainage.,: and all the cost, of
curbing. said Avenue C from the -.North side of Crockett. Street: -
to the _South side of Irma: Avenue . - =y and against- the tracks of
the: Eastern Texas Electric Company, where occupying said Avenue
C. frons the North side- of Crockett Street to the South side of
Irma.Avenue and against said Eastern Texas Electric Company, all
the . cost of paving -between and two feet -on each side of the
tracks and rails of said Company.
The lot, lots,parts of lots, blocks or tracts- of
land on which said tax is levied and assessed i.s hereinafter
described together with the number of front feet on such lot.,
lots, parts of la.ts, blocks or tracts of land, the name or names
of the owner or owners thereof and the proportionate amount of
the cost of said paving and gutter, and the cost of said
curbin4be borne, and paid for by such owner or owners as shown
by the statementprepared by the City Engineer of the`City of
Beaumont, which said amount is hereby levied and assessed as.
a- tax upon such lots, parts: of lots, blocks or tracts of land -

That said .amounts -.so levied and assessed shall become.
due and payable upon the completion of the paving upon the portion
of said Street upon which said lot-, 1-otsg parts of lots, blocks
or tracts, of land, front and abutt., and the amount -of the tax here-
by levied and assessed- together with the cost of collecting and.
interest at. seven (`7 0- per cent per annum from. the date sameis
collectible until paid is hereby declared a- lien against said -lot*

other liens, claims,, or titl.e.s except. City,, County and State taxes,a.nd,
constitute a personal charge or claire against the owner o -r owners

Electric Company and such co-sts of said improvements are hereby
assessed- against the said Eastern Texas Electric,Company and shall

provided such work shall be done in .accordan-ce with the. City
Ordinances -regulating the construction of Railroads in the.
Streets of the City of Beaumont and .the pavingof such. Streets
traversed by the same. --
SECTION 4
The fact. that the portions. of the abovenamed. street4
a.s indiced -a*e. in bad condition and Jeopardizethe safety of
the people traveling, theren-n;area.tes an emergency and an imperative
public necessity, ne;cessita-ting the sus ensign- of the rule re-
quiring ordinances to. be. read on Three (13), several days before
their pa.ssag-e,. said rule is therefore hereby suspended and `this
Ordinance shall take effect and be. in full force and effect from
and c.fter itz passage and publiea.tion.
