AN ORDINANCE

ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF ITATA STREET TO
IRMA AVENUE, AND DECLARING AN W:,MGENCY.
71HE_REAS1, Itata Street in the City of Beaumont is a short one
and is a continuation of Irma Avenue in said City; and
wHERF.AS, said Itata Street is commonly and publicly known and
designated as Irma Avenue in said City; and
'SHEREAS, said Itata Street is about to be paved from the East
side of Avenue C to the alley between Orange and Avenue A, and in order
to have all proceedings affecting said Itata Street regular.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMO NT:
Section I.
That the name of Itata Street which now exists between Johns
Avenue and Avenue D. be, and the same is, hereby changed to Irma Avenue,
and which is now known by public records as Irma Avenue, and Itata
Street shall hereafter be known and designated as Irma Avenue; that
this change of name shall be effective from and after the passage of
this ordinance.
Section II.
The fact that said Itata Street is in bad need of improvement
and that the City of Beaumont is now proceeding to have said street im-
proved and that the name of said Street should be changed from Itata
Street to Irma Avenue so that all proceedings had by the City of Beau-
mont shall be regular and legal, creates an imperative public necessity
necessitating the suspension of the rule requiring ordinances to be
read on three (3) several days before their passage, said rule, there-
fore, is hereby suspended and this ordinance shall take effect and be
in full force and effect from and after its passage.
Passed by the affirmative vote of all the members of the
Commission this the 2nd day of March 1926.
