HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 60-E0 AN 0 RIE NANCE 1 Amending Sub -section A, of Section 22, of an Ordinance passed by the City Commission of the City of eaumont on the 4th day of September, 1920, as amended by an Ordinance passed on the 16th day of December, 1924, entitled "An Ordinance regulating the passage in, along and upon the streets and ways of the pity of Beaumont, and -r-2gulating the use of such streets and ways by persons riding or walking and regulating the tranenortation of persons by street cars and all other vehicles, and providing -penalties for the violation thereof, repealing all laws and ordinances in conflict herewith, and declaring an emergency", so that the same shall read as hereinafter provided, and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COLZUSaION OF THE CITY OF BEAU ME'T: Sect ion 1. That sub -section A of Section 22, of the Ordinance mentioned in the preamble hereof shall be amended so that the same shall hereafter 1:e and read as follows; SECTION 22. A. It shall be unlawful for any person in charge of any vehicle, motor or otherwise, or any domestio animal to allow said vehicle or animal to remain standing between the hours of 7 o'clock A. M. and 11 o'clock P.L-. for a longer period of time that the period specified on any of the streets or portions of streets within the City of Beaumont, to wit: Beginning at the intersection of Pearl and Liberty streets, thence East on Liberty Street to the East boundary line of the Federal Building property on Diberty ;street, it shall be unlawful for may vehicle, motor or otherwise, to remain standing for a longer period than 10 minutes. Section 2. The fact that the parking of automobiles in front of the Post Office from 7 o'clock A.M. until 11 o'clock r.I:1. for a longer period of time than 10 minutes creates ;,, congestion of traffic in Liberty Street near the Post gffiee and is a serious inconvenience to the public, -nzk creates an emergency and an imperative publi-- necessity requiring the rule that ordinances be read on three separate days before their passage to be suspended, and said rule is hereby suspended and this ordinance shall be in effect from and after its passage and lawful publication.
