Changing the name of Jerome Street to P ennsylvani a
Avenue.
WHEREAS, Jerome Areet is but an extension and contin,-
nation of Pennsylvania Avenue, and therefore -causes confusion;
and,
WHEREAS, the citizens owning property along Jerome;
Street in the City of Beaumont have requested the City
Commission to change the name of said street; and
WHEREAS, citizens residing on said Jerome Street object
to the name of Jerome, and prefer the name of Pennsylvania;
and ,
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it advisable to
comply with the wishes.of the residents on said street in
regard to changing the name of the same from Jerome to
Pennsylvania.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE. IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
SectLon I.
That the name of Jerome: Street in' the City of Beaumont
be and it is hereby changed to Rpnnsylvania Avenue, and what
is now known as Pennsylvania Avenue and Jerome. Street shall
be hereafter known as Pennsylvania Avenue; that this change
of name shall be effective 3D.---d.ayail after the passage of this
ordinance.
Passed by the affirmative vote of all members of
the Commission, this the /"z 411 day o f October, A. D.
