AN ORDINANCE
EffTITLED AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE SIGNATURES ON
THE OCTOBER 10 1922 $350x000.00 ISSUE OF WATER WORKS BONDS
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, AND DECLARING AN EKERGENCY.
WHEREAS, on October 1, 1922, there was legally
issued by the City of Beaumont, Three Hundred Fifty (350)
Water Works Bonds of the City of Beaumont in the denomination
of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) each; and
WHEREAS, said bonds were signed by B. A. Steinhagen
as Mayor, George J. Roark as Director of Finance, and B. C.
LeBaron as City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, said officers have ceased to hold said
respective offices and have been succeeded in office by
J. Austin Barnes as Mayor, L. R. Pietzsoh as Director of
Finance, and 011ie J. Bloyd as City Clerk;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMON Ts
Section. 1.
That the execution of said bonds by the aforesaid
B. A. Steinhagen as Mayor, George J. Roark an Director of
Finance, and B. C. LeBaron as City Clerk, is hereby in all
things adopted, ratified and confirmed, and said bonds are
hereby declared to be legal, valid and subsisting obligations
of the City of Beaumont, according to their face and tenor,
effect and reading.
Section 2+
The fact that the Water dorke of the City of Beaumont
are :Lu present need of funds for build ing extensions on the
Water works plant so as to adequately supply the residents of
the City of Beaumont with water, creates an emergency and an
imperative public necessity requiring the rule that ordinances
be read at three separate meetings to be suspended, and the
said rule is hereby suspended and this ordinance shall go into
effect from and after its passage*
