WHEREAS, heretofore, on the -7th day of Ma.rch,1924,_ the City of Beaumont entered into a contract with the Uvalde Rock Asphalt Company for the construction of certain street improvements in arnd for said City, which contract,'is recorded in Book V. of the Minutes of the City Commission of said City; and WHFREAS,on- the 30th de,y of April, 192410 a supplemental contrast was entered into by and between said City and said Company wherein and whereby it was -agreed that the contract, price for said street improvements shall be payable by the issuance of City of Beaumont Street Improvement Warrants,not to exceed $35,000,00, to be delivered in installments in paymentz of work completed, as covered by certificate of City Engineer, after claim covering such certificate has been duly audited and allowed by the City Commission of said City; and WHEREAS,, the said Uvalde Roek 'Aspha.lt Company has - ._ _. nod' presented to the City Commission: a certificate duly made by the City Engineer of the City'of Beaumont, covering work completed under said contract, which certificate is in words and figures as follows: UVLDE' RO CIS ASPHALT C011I'.
