AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOSING OF THE ALLEY LOCATED
IN BLOCK Noe 34, of THE CARTWRIGHT ADDITION TO THE CITY OF BEAU-
MONT, TEXAS.
AN ORDINANCE
WI EREAS, a petition duly signed by J. F. Darnell, N. J.
Morris, J. R. Jefferson, R. W. Haynes, C. B. Durdin, S. B. Sheffield,
R; W. Corley, H. T. McGraw, W. F. Harris and Geo: Jamail9 owners
of all the property located in Block No: 34 of ,the Cartwright
Addition to the City of Beaumont abutting on the alley' has been
presented to the City Commission of the City of Beaunont requesting
that such alley be closed and vacated;
NOW, THEREF04, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT :
That the alley located in Block.No. 34 -of the Cartwright
Addition to the City of Beaumont be and the same is hereby au-
thorized to be vacated and closed, and that the title to such
alley shall revert to and become the property of the respective
owners of the land in said block bordering on said alley, as
provided by law; provided, however, that the closing of this al le y
shall in no way affect the rights of the City as to placing and
maintaining therein of any sewer or water lines, or telephone,
telegraphs or electric lines, wires, poles or cables, or any
other service or utility of the City, or the right of the City
to grant franchises to persons or eorporst ions to place and main-
tain therein any such sewer or water lines'$ telephone, telegraph,
or electric lines, wires, poles or cables, or any other service
or utility of the City; all of which rights are hereby reserved;
Passed this the 26th day of May, A.D. 1931:
