AN ORDINADTCE
AUTHORIZING THE VACATING ASID CLOSING OF TIE ALLEY
LOCATED IN BLOCK Noy 31, OF THE CARTVIRIGHT ADDITION TO THE
CITY OF BEAUI ONT., TEXAS.
WHEREAS; a petition duly signed by A. C. Lindner,
Frank A. Douglas, G. S, Fox' Mrs, Una Wood, C. A. Trahan,
J. E. Hargraves, and Calvary Baptist Church by 1`_. K. Jol)_.nson,
Trustee Chairman and C. H. Reese, Secretary, oim.ers of all
the property in Block No, 31 of the Cartwright Addition to
the City of Be aunont, abutting on the alley' has been presented
to the City Commission of tl-e City of Beaumont requesting
that such alley be closed and vacated;
NOW F THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT :
That the alley .located in Block No'. 31 of the Cartwright
Addition to the City of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby
authorized to be vacated and closed, and that the title to such
alley shall revert to and become the property of the respective
owners of the land in s(iaid block bordering oil said alley, as
provided by law; provided, hotirrever, that the closir_g of this alley
shall in no gray affect' the rights of tIB City as to placing and
maintaining therein o any sewer or water lines, ar telephone_
telegraph, or electric lines, wires, poles, or cables, or any
other service .or utility of the City, or tl-B right of the City
t)o grant Franchises to persons or corporations to place and
maintain therein any such sewer or 1rrater lines, or telephone.,
telegraph., or electric lines, wires., poles or cables, or any other
service or utility of the City, all of which rights are hereby
reserved;

WE, the undersigned, being the sole O'wners of all
the property located in Block /of _ a Addition to
the City of Beaumont, hereby respectfully petition that,the�alley

closed in the ma-rm-er as permitted by the Statutes of the State of
Texas, and i that such alley- become the absolute property of the
ottners of the land in sal.d block adjacent to and abutting on such
alley, it being understood, however, that the closing of this alley
shall in no way affect the rights of the City as to placing and
maintaining therein any sewer or Mater lines -c or any other service
or utility of the City.
