WHEREAS, a petition duly signed by Jilia P. Ligon, Stuart R. Smith, IX. Farha, R.D. Chastain, Mrs. Pressley Mahon, and husband, P.H. Mahon, H.A. Perlstein, Jake Westbrook and R.W. Pack, owners of Block Seven (7) of the McFaddin Second Addition to the City of Beaumont, has been presented to the City Commis- sion of the City of Beaumont requesting that such alley be closed and vacated. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CO11MISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: That the alley located in Block Seven (7) of the McFaddin Second Addition to the'01ty of Beaumont be, and the same is, hereby authorized to be vacated and closed, and that the title to such alley shall revert to and become the property of the respective owners -of the land in said block bordering on said alley, as provided by law; provided, however, that the closing of this alley shall in no way affect the rights of the City as to placing and maintaining therein of any sewer or water lines,: or any other service or utility of the City, Dr owner of .property in said block, all of which rights are hereby reserved. Pack, hereinafter called Petitioners, and respectfully represent and will show the City Commissioners as follows: That Petitioners are all of the property owners in- Block hBlock #7 of the McFaddin Second -'Addition to the City of Beaurlont according to the map, plat and survey of said addition of record in the office of the County Clerk of Jefferson County; that said Block #7 of the McFaddin Second Addition as revealed by said plat is traversed by an alley �=(, (ZV ) feet in width dedicat- ed to the Public and the City of Beaumont, said alley crossing said Block #7 in an Easterly and. Westerly direction parallel with Liberty and Broadway Avenues, and approximately equidistant from the North and South lines of said Block #7. That Petitioners are all of the property owners in said Block #7 and allowr_ property abutting on said alley; and that it is the unanimous desire of your Petitioners that said alley -way be closed as a public thoroughfare and be vacated as an easement dedicated to the Public. Wherefore, your Petitioners respectfully pray that an ordinance be passed vacating the dedication of said alley as a public thoroughfare subject only to the easement of the telephone, light and power companies who at this date own telephone, light and power lines erected therein, and that the official map or plat o.f said Block #7 of the McFaddin Second Addition to the City of Beaumont be corrected to reflect the vacation of said right-of- way or thoroughfare. a• PRISON- 7-2- � l c - i' I.
