AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
TEXAS, RECEIVING AND ACCEPTING THE ?WORK OF IM-
PROVING NORTH STREET, FROM THE WEST PROPERTY
LINE OF TWENTY-THIRD STREET WESTWARD TO INCLUDE
THE INTERSECTION OF CENTRAL DRIVE AND NORTH
STREET IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, AUTHORIZ-
ING AND DIRECTING THE EXECUTION AND ISSUANCE OF
SPECIAL ASSESSMENT CERTIFICATES TO TROTTI &
THOMSON, INC., THE CONTRACTOR PERFORMING SAID
WORK; APPROVING THE FORM OF SUCH SPECIAL ASSESS-=
MENT CERTIFICATES.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
SECTION 1:
That the work of improving the following described
street in the City of Beaumont, Texas, to -wit:
NORTH STREET, from the Vilest Property
line of Twenty-third Street Westward
to Include the Intersection of Central
Drive and North Street
by raising, grading, filling, widening, paving, repaving or re-
pairing same and by constructing such drainage lines and facilities
and other incidentals and appurtenances thereto as deemed neces-
sary and adequate by the City Engineer and as provided for in
the Plans and Specifications therefor, said paving consisting of
the construction of a Six-inch (611 ) Reinforced Portland Cement
Concrete Slab together with integral curb and of the type and
width as provided for in the Plans and Specifications therefor
prepared by the City Engineer, and heretofore approved and adopted
by said City Council, all of said improveme nt s being as provided
for and described in said Plans and Specifications, and all of
same having been performed and completed in full accordance with
all the terms and provisions of the Contract dated October 28,
1948, between said City of Beaumont, Texas, and Trotti & Thomson,
Inc., and said -Plans and Specifications therein contained; and
said City Engineer having measured, examined and caused to be
tested the finished improvements by the means and in the manner
provided by the terms of said Contract and the Plans and Speci-
fications therein contained, and said City Engineer having found
that such improvements have been constructed and completed in
full compliance with all provisions of said Contract and said
Plans and Specifications, and said City Engineer having approved
and accepted said work and improvements and having heretofore
issued his Certificate of Final Acceptance, and so certified to
said City Counril and recommending that said City Council accept
and receive said work and the improvements as constructed and
completed by said Tratti & Thomson, Inc., and said work and im-
provements having been examined and found by the Mayor and the

City Council of said City of Beaumont, Texas, to have been
performed and completed in full compliance with said Contract
and said Plans and Specifications therefor, said work and im-
provements are hereby found by said City Council to have been
performed and completed by said Trotti & Thomson, Inc., in
full compliance with the terms and provisions of said Contract
and said Plans and Specifications therefor, and same are here-
by accepted and received by said City Council of the City of
Beaumont, Texas, said improvements referred hereinabove are re-
ferred to in that certain Contract dated October 28, 1948, as
Unit 9.
SECTION 2:
That the Payor and City Clerk of the City of Beaumont,
Texas, are hereby authorized and directed to execute and issue
to Trotti & Thomson, Inc., Special Assessment -Certificates
evidencing the assessments levied against the properties im-
proved abutting upon the above described street and against
the real and true owners thereof, which, by the terms of said
Contract, the City of Beaumont, Texas, has agreed and obligated
itself to issue and deliver to said Trotti & Thomson, -Inc., in
accordance with the provisions of the Final Assessment- Ordinance
and other proceedings heretofore had and adopted by said City
Council; said Special Assessment Certificates shall be executed
in the name of said City by its Mayor and City Clerk, and im-
pressed with the seal of said City, and dated as of the date
hereof, and such officers are hereby authorized and directed to
execute said Certificates in their official capacities on behalf
of said City, and deliver same to said Trotti & Thomson, Inc.,
said Special Assessment Certificates having heretofore been pre-
pared, a copy of which is on file with the City Clerk, the form
and contents thereof are hereby approved and adopted.

Gentlemen:
In accordance with the proceedings heretofore
had by your honorable body pertaining to the improvement of
North Street, from the West property line of Twenty-third
Street Westward to include intersection of Central Drive and
North Street, I wish to inform you that the contractor,
Trotti & Thomson, Inc., has performed and completed all of
the work in improving said street in full accordance with
the Plans Specifications and the Contract therefor dated
October 2A, 1948, said work being more particularly described
as the construction thereupon of a six-inch (611) reinforced
Portland Cement Concrete Slab together with integral curb,
drainage lines and facilities and other appurtenances to such
work.
I have examined the work done as per that cer-
tain Contract of October 28, 1948, and find that the con-
tractor, Trotti & Thomson, Inc., has completed the work in
a proper and highly satisfactory manner, and in full accordance
with the Plans, Specifications and the Contract referred to
herein.
Therefore, I recommend that the City Council
accept and receive this work.
