AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOSING OF
LEIGHT STREET FROM STEELTON AVENUE TO CLEVELAND AVENUE,
BIRMINGHAM AVENUE FROM ARTHUR STREET TO TAFT STREET,
COASTSVILLE STREET BETWEEN. BLOCKS NOS. 177 AND 176" AND
PITTSBURG STREET BETWEEN BLOCKS NOS. 176 AND 175, OF
THE PINECREST ADDITION IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT.
WHEREAS, The City Engineer of The City of Beaumont has pro-
posed that Leight Street from Steelton A -venue to Cleveland Avenue,
Birmingham Avenue from Arthur Street to Taft Street, Coastsville
Street between Blocks Nos. 177 and 176, and Pittsburg Street between
Blocks Nos. 176 and 175, of the'Pinecrest Addition in The City of
Beaumont be vacated and closed, iri.'order to promote the best inter-
est and benefit of the public; and..
WHEREAS, the said proposal has been referred to the City.Plan-
ning and Zoning Commission for study, investigation and recommenda-
tion to the City Council as to whether such proposal should be
approved, and the City Planning and Zoning Commission has thorough-
ly studied and investigated said proposal and recommended to the
City Council that the approval of the said proposal would be to the
best interest and benefit of the.public, and that said proposal
should, therefore, be approved; and,
WHEREAS, it is for the best interest of The City of Beaumont
and benefit of the public that the above mentioned Streets be
vacated and closed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That Leight Street from Steelton Avenue to Cleveland -Avenue, Bir-
mingham Avenue from Arthur Street to Taft Street, Coastsville
Street between Blocks Nos. 177 and 176, and Pittsburg Street be-
tween Blocks Nos. 176 and 175, of the Pinecrest Addition in The
City of Beaumont be and the same are hereby authorized to be vacated
and closed, and that the title to said vacated and closed streets
shall revert to and become the property of the owners of the land
abutting on said vacated and closed streets, as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council this 22nd day of March, A.D. 1949•
