AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE
AND DELIVER A. DEED TO SAMUEL BEAN, ET UX., CON-
VEYING.LOT SEVENTEEN (17), BLOCK FIFTEEN (15),
CARTWRIGHT ADDITION, AND -TO TRANSFER THE VENDOR'S
LIENS RETAINED THEREIN TO THE AMERICAN NATIONAL,
BANK OF BEAUMONT.AND TO MARY J. GILDART. .
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City to purchase the
west ninety-three (93) feet of Lot One (1), Block Four (4), Mc-
Faddin Heights Subdivision, for Highway 90 right of way, said
property being presently owned by Samuel Bean and wife, Cleopatra
Bean, subject to a vendor's lien in favor of. The American National
Bank -of Beaumont to secure an indebtedness in the amount of
Eighteen Hundred Forty -One Dollars and Ninety -Eight Cents ($1$1.1.9$),
and a vendor's lien held by Mary J. Gildart to secure an indebted-
ness in the amount of Three Hundred ($300.00) Dollars; and,
WHEREAS, in order for the American National Bank of Beau- .
mont and Mary J. Gildart to retain the liens above mentioned, it
was necessary for the City to take title to Lot Seventeen (17),
Block Fifteen (15), Cartwright.:Addition, in its own name and con-
vey the property to the Beans, retaining vendor's liens to secure
the above indebtedness, and then for the City to transfer these
liens to these parties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT:
That the Mayor and the City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized
to -execute, and deliver on behalf of The -City of Beaumont _a deed to
Samuel Bean and wife, Cleopatra Bean, conveying title to Lot Seven-
teen (17), Block Fifteen (15), Cartwright Addition, and retaining
in said deed a vendor's lien to secure the payment of the above
mentioned outstanding indebtednesses, and that said officials be

and they are hereby authorized to execute and deliver on behalf
of The City of Beaumont a transfer of the -above-mentioned indebted-
nesses and liens to The American National Bank of Beaumont and to
Mary J. Gildart.
