AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOSING
OF A PORTION OF.STEELTON AVENUE TO.BE ABANDONED
AS A RESULT OF.THE RELOCATION OF.-STEELTON AVENUE
AT THE VOTH ROAD.
WHEREAS, the Citf Engineer of The City of Beaumont has
proposed that a portion of Steelton Avenue in the City of
Beaumont should be vacated and closed as a result of the
relocation of Steelton Avenue at the Voth.Road in order to
Promote the best interest and benefit of the public, said
portion of Steelton Avenue being described as follows:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 32 of the
Pin_Oak Plots Addition according to the present
plat of said Addition on record in the office of
the _County Clerk, Jefferson County T"exas, or the
Northwest corner of Acreage Tract k. -Plat D-6,
City Tax Assessorts Plat Book, said point also being
on the present East.line of Steelton Avenue;
Thence South along the present East line of Steelton
Avenue or the present West line of said Acreage
Tract 20.one hundred fourteen and seventy-five
hundredths_1114.75) feet to its intersection with.
the Northeast lie of the Voth_Road,-said--point_
being thirty -(30) -feet perpendicularly distant from
the cahterli_ne of the present pavement on the Voth
Road;
Thence=North 41 degrees 07 minutes West along the
said northeast line of the Voth-Road, said line
being parallel with and thirty (30) feet distant
from the centerline of the present..pavement on the
Voth Road,- ninety-four and twenty-six hundredths.
.(94.26) feet to corner;
Thence North 48 degrees 53 minutes East along a line
perpendicular to the said Northeast line of the Voth
Road twelve and three hundredths (12.03) feet to the
point of curve .of a curve to the left;
Thence. -in a Northeasterly direction along a curve
to the left having a radius of one hundred fifty-
four and fifty-six hundredths (154.56.) feet and a.
central angle of 48 degrees 53 .minutes for a dis-
tance measured along the arc of one hundred thirty-
one and eighty -seven -hundredths (131.$7) feet to.
the point of tangent, said point -being on the present
East line of Steelton Avenue and the West line of
said Lot 32;
Thence South along the present East line of Steelton
Avenue or the present West -line of said Lot 32 eighty
and sixty-one hundredths ($0.61) feet to -the place
of beginning.

The above described tract contains.4545 square
feet, . more or less;.
and,
WHEREAS, the said -'proposal has been referred to the
City Planning and Zoning Commission for study,'investigation,
and recommendation.to the City Council.as to whether.such
proposal should be approved, and -the City Planning and Zoning
Commission. -has thoroughly studied and investigated -said pro-
posal., and recommended to the.City.Council that the approval
of the said proposal would be to the best interest and benefit
of the pub -lie, and that said proposal shouldV therefore, be
approved; and,
WHEREAS, it is for the best,interest of the City of Beau-
mont and benefit of ' the public- that .-the above mentioned
portion -of Steelton Avenue be vacated and closed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
�OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:.
That the portion of Steelton Avenue above described, -''in The
City of Beaumont be and the same is hereby authorized to be
vacated and.closed, and that the title to said vacated and.
closed portion of Steelton Avenue'shall revert.to and become
the property of the _owners of the land abutting on.said
vacated and closed portion of said Steelton Avenue, as provided
by- law.
PASSED by the City Council this day of September,
A.D. 194$.
