AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDI-
NANCES OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS., SO AS TO PROVIDE MIN-
IMUM SPEEDREGULATIONS FOR THE FREEWAY MAIN LANES
OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 10; AND PROVIDING A -PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED'BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
1.
That the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, is hereby
amended by adding a section, to be numbered Section 37--59, which
said section reads as follows:
ItSection 37--59. Minimum Speed Regulations.
"It shall be unlawful for any person to operate
or drive any motor or other vehicle upon the
Freeway main lanes of Interstate Highway 10 at a
speed less than forty (40) miles per hour.
Police officers are hereby.authorized to enforce
the foregoing provision by directions to drivers,
and a wilful disobedience to this provision shall
be a violation of law punishable as provided in
Section 1-8 of this Code . is
2.
That .any person who violates any provision of this ordi-
nance shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section
1--8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
