AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE'AMENDING SECTION 3--18
OF, THE CODE OF ORDINANCES.OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS,
SO AS TO PROHIBIT THE SALE OF BEER ON SUNDAY
BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 1:00 O'CLOCK P.M. AND
MIDNIGHT; PROVIDING A PENALTY; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
AND -PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
1.
That Section 3--18 of the Code of Ordinances of Beau-
mont, Texas, is hereby amended to read, -as follows:
"Section 3--18 . Hours of sale.
"It shall be unlawful for any person to sell
beer or offer same for sale within the city
limits on Sunday"at any time between the hours
of 1:00 o'clock p.m. and midnight.tt
2.
That any person who violates any provision of this
ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in
Section 1--8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas,

That if any section,'subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to a particu-
lar set of persons or circumstances shall for any reason be held
to be invalid, such invalidity shall in no wise affect the remain-
ing portions of this ordinance, and to such end various portions
and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
4.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in'conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
