AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER AN OIL, GAS
AND MINERAL LEASE UPON APPROXIMATELY 25.85 ACRES OF
LAND IN ORANGE COUNTY, TEXAS, TO SUN OIL COMPANY ON
TERMS PROVIDED FOR IN SAID LEASE.
WHEREAS, bids were received by The City of Beaumont on
February 13, 1962 for an oil, gas and mineral lease on approximately
25.85 acres of land in Orange County, Texas, hereinafter described,
and Sun Oil Company submitted a bid, which was the only one received,
wherein they agreed to pay.a bonus of $1700.00 and an annual rental
of $129.25 for the primary term of five (5) years; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that it is to
the best interest of the City that the bid of the Sun Oil Company
be accepted and that the hereinafter described property be leased
to said Sun Oil Company, upon the terms as set out in said lease,
same being dated February 13, 1962, said property being described
as follows:
FIRST SECTION: Described in a deed dated March 12,
1915, from Beaumont Shingle Company to E. A. Fletcher,
Mayor of the City of Beaumont, recorded in Book 21,
Page 263 of the Deed Records of Orange County, Texas:
Beginning at a point on the north line of the Nancy
Davis League, 2100 feet east of the east bank of the
Neches River; thence east 224 feet to a point on said
League line; thence south 27 degrees east 1219 feet;
thence south 29 degrees 36 minutes east 1787 feet to
a point on the south line of the north one. -half of
the 640 acre tract formerly owned by Perl Bunn; thence
west 230 feet to a point on said line; thence north
29 degrees 36 minutes west 1787 feet; thence north 27
degrees west 1219 feet to the place of beginning.
Described tract being a strip of land 200 feet in width
and containing 13.80 acres.
/ ECOND SECTION: Described in a deed dated July 14,
1915 from H. A. Perlstein et al, Trustees of the East
Beaumont Townsite Company to E. A. Fletcher, Mayor of
the City of Beaumont, recorded in Book 21, Page 483
of the Deed Records of Orange County, Texas.
Beginning at a point on the League line between the
Thos. Breece and Nancy Davis League and 1530 feet east
of the Neches River on said League line; thence east
230 feet to a point on said League line; thence north
29 degrees 36 minutes west 2625 feet to a point on the
north line of the south one -.third of the Nancy Davis
League, thence west 230 feet to a point on said line
3935 feet; east of the Neches River; thence South 29

degrees 36 minutes 2625 feet to a place of begin-
ning. Said described tract being a strip of land
two hundred (200) feet in width and containing
12.05 acres;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE*IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That Mayor C. H. LeBlanc be, and he is hereby, authorized and dir-
ected to execute and deliver an oil, gas and mineral lease, dated
the 13th day of February, 1962, to Sun Oil Company; and the City
Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to said instrument and to af-
fix the seal of The City of Beaumont thereto.
