AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN.ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING
THAT PORTION OF 17TH STREET FROM THE BEAUMONT,
SOUR LAKE AND WESTERN RAILWAY RIGHT OF WAY TO
LIBERTY AVENUE, FULLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, IN THE
CITY OF BEA:UMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, a petition has been presented to the City Coun-
cil of The City of Beaumont, signed by the owners of all of the
property abutting that portion of 17th Street from the Beaumont,
Sour Lake and Western Railway right of way south to Liberty Avenue,
hereinafter described, in The City of Beaumont, Jefferson County,
Texas, requesting that said portion of 17th Street be vacated and
abandoned, said portion of said street being more fully described
as follows, to wit:
and,
Being th4 poJrtion of 17th Street bounded on the
West by iW1126 of the Jarrette Addition; on the
North by the South right. -of -way line of Beaumont,
Sour Lake and Western Railway_; on the East by- E6:62 '
27 of the Jarrette Addition; and on the South by
the North line of Liberty Avenue;
WHEREAS,'it appears to the City Council that it is to the
best interest of The City of Beaumont and benefit to the public
that the above described portion of 17th Street be vacated and
abandoned;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE.IT ORDAINED.BY THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS-:
That the portion of 17th Street above described be, and the same
is hereby, authorized to be vacated and abandoned, and that title
to said vacated and abandoned portion of 17th Street shall revert
to and become the property of the parties entitled thereto, as pro-
vided by law.
