PHILLIPS CONVEYING AN 0.54 ACRE. TRACT OF LAND.,
MORE OR LESS,.OUT OF THE -NORTH ONE HALF OF BLOCK
4, GLAD.YS CITY,OIL.AND- GAS MANUFACTURING COMPANY
SUBDIVISION IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFF'ERSON
COUNTY, TEXAS, FOR A CASH CONSIDERATION OF
$1,500.00.
WHEREAS, bids were received by The City of Beaumont on
June 28; 1960-, for the sale of a parcel -:of land owned by The City
of Beaumont; located at the east intersection -of the proposed
south access road to:Loop 251".and the T. F N. .0. Railroad, and
Wesley.N. Phillips.submitted a.bid.in the sum. of Fifteen Hundred
($1500..00). Dollars for the purchase. -of said property, which was
the only bid received;. arid,
_WHEREAS., the :City --.Council is .of. the opinion that it -i-s to
the best interest of the City that the hereinafter described prop:
erty be -conveyed to Wesley N. Phillips for the sum of Fifteen Hun«,
dred ($150.0.00) Dollar& -cash, said property being described as
follows.:
Being a part, of. the John A. Veatch ;Survey, Beaumont;
JeffersonCounty, Texas, and being a. part of that cer-. .
-tain tract -of land conveyed by Nelson Nicholas and
wife, Clara Lee Nicholas, to. The City of -Beaumont by
-deed-dated January 3, 1957, and r-ecorded in Volume
1054,,Page 165 in the Deed Records of Jefferson
County, Texas,:and being more particularly described
by. metes and bounds as follows.:
Beginning at a point lying on,the westerly line of
Block 4 of the Gladys City Oil -and Gas Manufacturing
Company Subdivision in -.the John A. Veatch Survey or
on the easterly right -.of -.way line of the Texas and
New Orleans Railroad (S.& E.T..R.R..), said point being
south 270 35t'east ten and one tenth (10.1) feet from
the northwest corner of said Block 4 and also being
in the south right-of-way line of Loop 251 Highway;
Thence south 700 552 east along the said south right-.
of -way line of' -Loop 251 Highway three hundred eight.

NOW, THEREFORE;.BE IT ORDAINED BY'THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS.:
That the Mayor be, andhe.is hereby, authorized and directed to
execute and deliver a special warranty deed on behalf of'The City
of Beaumont conveying the above d-escrib.ed property to Wesley N..
Phillips, upon receipt of Fifteen Hundred.($1500.00) Dollars cash;
_and the City Clerk is hereby ,authorized' .to attest to. said instru-
ment and to affix the seal of The City of Beaumont thereto.
