AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND ABANDONING
OF A CERTAIN PORTION OF'15TH STREET SOUTH OF PHYSI-
CIAN'S PLACE. -OUT -OF BLOCK 28-OF THE J..B. LANGHAM
SUBDIVISION IN TIE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY,
TEXAS.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by the owners of all of the prop-
erty abutting on 15th Street in Block 28 of the J. B. Land.ham Sub-
division in the City of Beaumont, hereinafter described, ha`been "'
presented to the City Cov.ncil.of The City of Beaumont, requesting
that said portion of 15th Street be vacated and abandoned, said por-
tion of'said street being more fully described by metes and bounds
as follows, to wit:
Being a. tract of land out of Block 28 of the J. B.
Langham Subdivision and being a portion.of that
tractLaconveyed by Northway Place Corporation to The
City of Beaumont for road purposes and being more
particularly described as -follows:
Beginning at a concrete monument in the north line
of the Northway Place Corporation tract of land and
in the south line of Physicians Place Addition;
said concrete monument also locating the southeast
corner of Lot No..11 of Physicians Place Addition;
Thence north 88 degrees 45-1/2 minutes east with the
common line of Physicians Place and Northway Place
Corporation 60 feet to a concrete monument locating
the northwest and beginning corner of the tract of
land herein described; said concrete monument also
locates the southwest corner of.Lot No. 10 of Physi-
cians Place;
Thence north 88 degrees 45-1/2 minutes east with the
south line of Physicians Place and the north line of
Northway Place.Corporation a distance of 83.95 feet
to an iron pipe for corner;
Thence south 1 degree 14-1/2 minutes east 80.14 feet
to an iron pipe for corner;
Thence ,in a -'southeasterly direction with the arc, of a
curve to the right whose radius is 67.80 feet and
whose central angle is 63 degrees 30 minutes and an
arc distance of 72.92 feet, to an iron pipe locating
the point of double reverse curve;
Thence continuing in a.southwesterly direction with
the arc of a curve whose radius is 186 feet.and whose
central angle is 35 degrees.and 30 minutes and an arc
distance of 115.24 feet to a steel rod in the east
right-of-way line of 15th Street;
Thence in a northerly direction,with'the'east
right-of-way, ' 1 ' ine of 15th Street parallel to and
60 feet from the existing west right -.of -way line
of 15th' Street, with the -arc of a curve to the
left whose radius is 298 feet and whose central
angle is 28 degrees and an arc distance of 145-.63-
feet to an iron pin for corner;
Thence north,1 degree 14-1/2-minute*E( west with the
east right-of-wa-y line.-of'15th Street 80.14 feet
to the place., of" beginni nig;
and,
WHEREAS, it "appears to. the City, Council- that it"is- to the
,best interest of The City of Beaumont and benefit to the public that
the above described portion of'15th Street be vacated and abandoned;
NOW, THEREFORE. -BE IT ORDAINED BY .THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
TEXAS:
.That the portion of 15th Street above described be, and the same is
hereby authorized to be vacated and abandonedt and that the title to
said vacated and abandoned portion of'15th Street shall revert to
and become the property.of the parties entitled thereto, as provided
by law..

COMMENT
_The Water--Department-has no -objection --to the portion of 15th St.
shown in red on the attached print being abandoned provided the existing
8" water line within this portion is relocated along the east curb of the
new alignment of 15th St. at the expense of the property owners.
