ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PROPER OFFICIALS
OF.THE CITY OF-BEAUMONT TO EXECUTE.AND,.DELIVER.A-SPEC-
IAL . WARRANTY DEED TO HARRY E . ROGERS, . JR .. AND. WIFE, -
MARJORIE.SMITH ROGERS, CONVEYING A 1..240-ACRE TRACT OF
LAND, MORE OR LESS, OUT OF LOTS OR BLOCKS 31, 32, AND
33 OF COLLEGE ACRES ADDITION IN THE.CITY OF BEAUMONT,
JEFFERSON.COUNTY, TEXAS,.FOR A CASH CONSIDERATION OF
$281010.00.
WHEREAS, bids were received by The City of Beaumont on
October 13, 1959 for the sale of- a parcel of land, owned by The City
of Beaumont located at the southeast intersection.of College Street
and Interstate:Highway 10, and Harry,.E. Rogers, Jr. and wife, Marjor-
ie Smith Rogers, submitted a'bid in the sum'of Twenty-eight Thousand
and Ten ($28,010.00) Dollars for the purchase'of said property, which
was the only bid received; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that it is to
the best interest -of. -the -City -that the hereinafter described property
be ,conveyed to Harry E. Rogers, Jr. and wife, Marjorie Smith Rogers
for the sum'of Twenty-eight Thousand -and Ten ($28,010.00) Dollars
cash, ,said property being described as.follows:
Beincj fractional parts of Lots or Blocks 3.1, 32 and
33 of. College Acres Addition to the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas,.and being more particularly
described by metes'.and bounds as follows:
Beginning at the southeast corner of said.Lot or Block
33;
Thence south 89 degrees 40 minutes west along the
south lines of Lots or Blocks 33, 32, and 31 two hun-
dred twenty-five-(225) feet to corner in the easterly
right-of-way line.of Interstate Highway 10;
Thence north 0 degree 43 minutes west along the said
easterly - right -of -way line , of Interstate Highway 10
one hundred.thirty-one (131) feet to.corner;
Thence north 44 degrees 23 minutes east along the right-
of-way line of said Interstate Highway 10 two hundred
sixty and ninety-four hundredths (260.94) feet to corner
in the south right-of-way line of -College Street as.now
established;
Thence north 89 degrees 30 minutes east along the said
south right-of-way line of'College Street as -now estab-
lished forty (40) feet to corner in.the east line of
said Lot or Block 33;

Thence south 0 degree-48 minutes east along the
east line of said Lot or Block 33 three hundred
sixteen and six tenths (316.6) feet to the place
of beginning;
The above described tract contains 1.240 acres,
more or less;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAU-
MONT, TEXAS:
That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to
execute and deliver a special warranty deed on behalf of The City
of Beaumont conveying the above -described property to Harry E.
Rogers, Jr. and wife, Marjorie Smith Rogers, upon receipt of Twenty-
eight Thousand and Ten ($281010.00) Dollars cash; and the City
Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to said instrument and to
affix the seal of The City of Beaumont thereto.
