ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDI-
NANCES OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, BY ADDING A SECTION
ESTABLISHING A PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT OF WENTY
(20) MILES PER HOUR UPON CERTAIN STREETS AND'POR-
TIONS OF STREETS BEYWEEN CERTAIN HOURS 14 HEN SIGNS
ARE ERECTED :GIVING NOTICE THEREOF.,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF.BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That the Code of, Ordinances of.. Beaumont. Texas, is here
by amended by adding a''section, to be numbered Section 37-58.11
which said section reads as follows:
"Section 37-58:1. Same— Decreased in certain zones.
"It is hereby determined upon the basis of an engineer-
ing and traffic investigation, that the speed permitted by state
law upon those streets, or portions of streets, described in the
schedule below is greater.than.is,reasonable or safe under the
conditions found to exist upon such streets and it is hereby de-
clared that the prima facie speed limit upon those streets or por-
tions thereof described in the schedule below shall be decreased
as therein stated and the limits so declared shall'be effective'at
the times specified.therein when signs are erected giving notice
thereof.
SCHEDULE
In accordance with this section, and when signs are
erected giving notice thereof, the prima facie speed limit shall
be twenty (20) miles per hour in the 'following zones bet-iTeen the
hours of seven -thirty o'clock a.m, and eight forty-five o'clock
a.m. and two o'clock p.m. and three forty-five o'clock p.m. Monday
through Friday on school days:
