AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CLOSING AND ABANDONING
OF THAT .PORTION .OF MOCKINGBIRD LAND FROM BLANCHETTE
STREET.ON THE NORTH TO CORLEY.AVENUE ON THE SOUTH
LYING. BETWEEN BLOCKS.30 b AND 35 b, COLLEGE ACRES
EXTENSION ADDITION -TO ` TIE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON
COUNTY, TEXAS.
WHEREAS; a petition -signed by the owners of the property
abutting that portion of Mockingbird Lane from Blanchette Street on
the north to .Corley Avenue on the south, lying between Blocks 30 b
and 35 b, College Acres Extension Addition to The City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas, has been presented to the City Council of
The City of Beaumont, requesting that this portion of Mockingbird
Lane be vacated and abandoned; and,
WHEREAS, said petition has been referred to the City Planning
and Zoning Commission for examination and approval, and the same has
been approved by said Commission; and,
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that it is to the
best interest of The City of Beaumont and benefit to the public that
the above described portion of Mockingbird Lane be vacated. and aban-
doned;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
TEXAS
That that portion of Mockingbird Lane from Blanchette Street on the
north to Corley -Avenue on the south, lying between Blocks 30 b and
35 b, College Acres Extension Addition .to The City of Beaumont, Jef-
ferson County, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, vacated: and aban-
doned; and that the title to said portion of said vacated and abandoned
street shall revert to and.become the property of the parties entitled
thereto, as provided by law. (�
