AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING OFFER OF
W. J. NOLAN TO PURCHASE CERTAIN
PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING PROPER
CITY OFFICERS TO EXECUTE AND
DELIVER QUITCLAIM DEED TO PURCHASER
OF SAME;,
PREAMBLE.
1P'MEREAS, on the 19th day of April, A.D., 1947, the City of
Beaumont;, for itself and as Trustee for the State of Texas and
the County of Jefferson, recovered a tax judgment again_st.__Mrs..____
`JV, R. -Blain, -et al, and the foreclosure of a tax lien upon the
following described property, to -wit;'
Tract 17, Plat 0, of the 5D Brown Survey,
to the City of Beaumont, Jeff eirson County,
Texas, as per map or plat in the office of
the Tax Assessor and Collector of the City
of Beaumont.
WHEREAS, on the 1st day of July, A.D., 1947, the City of
Beaumont, for itself and as Trustee for the State of Texas and
the County of Jefferson, purchased said above c]escribed property'
at public auction in satisfaction of said judgment and tax, lien;
and,
WHEREAS, on the: 1st day of July, A.;_Dy, 1947;C. H. Meyer,
Sheriff. of Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed and delivered
unto the City of Beaumont a. tax deed to the above described pro-
perty in satisfaction -of said jud-gment and tax lien, which deed
was recorded in Vol. 674, page 467, of the Deed Records of Jeffer-
son -County, Texas, on the 19th day of September, A.D., 1947; and,
WHEREAS, on the 3rd day 'of February, A.D., 1948, IT11. J. Nolan
offered to purchase .all of the right, title, interest, claim,
estate and demand of the City of Beaumont, the State of Texas
and the County of Jefferson in the above described property for
the sum. of Eight Hundred and 00/100 ($800.00) Dollars; and,,
?'IHEREAS, the City Commission is of the opinion that such
sale is for the best interest of the. City of Beaumont and should
be consummated;
Now, therefore, be it ordained by the City Commission of
the City of Beaumont that the aforesaid offer to purchase the
above described property is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City
Clerk are hereby authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of
the City of Beaumont a quitclaim deed conveying unto 101. J. Nolan
all' of the right, title, interest, claim, estate and demand of
,the City of Beaumont, the State of Texas, and the County of
Jefferson in the above described property derived by reason of
said Sheriff's. deed

as follows "Beginning at - a point on the north line. of Lyle

along thenorth line of Lyle St. 25:4 feet to its intersection
with the west line of Pennsylvania Ave; thence Werth' 13 deg.

To have and to hold the above released right? 'title, interest,
claim., estate and demand of the City of Beaumont, the State of Teras
and the County of Jefferson unto the said rV. J. Nolan, his heirs end
assigns, forever, so that the said City of Beaumont, the State of Texas
and County of Jefferson tibill have no further right,, title, interest,,
claim:, estate or demand in and to said property by reason of the above
referred to Sheriff's Deed,
W. T. Blackmon, Tax Assessor -Collector of Jefferson County; Texas;
joins in the execution of this instrument for the purpose of evidencing
the assent of the State of Texas and County of Jefferson to the above
conveyance.
In testimony whereof, the City of Beaumont has caused this instru-
