AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING OFFER
OF GEORGE H. CASSIDY, ET UX
TO PURCHASE CERTAIN PROPERTY
AND AUTHORIZING PROPER CITY
OFFICERS TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER
QUITCLAIM DEED TO PURCHASER OF
SAME. -
PREAMBLE
WHEREAS, on the 19th day of April,, A.D., 1947, the City of
Beaumont, for itself and as Trust__ee-for the State of--T-e.xas-and — -- -- --
-County` of -Jefferson, recovered a tax judgment against Mrs. W. R.
Blain, et al, and the foreclosure of a tax lien upon the following
described property, to -wit:
The North one-half of Lots 4 & 51 in Block 6,
of the Jersey Farm Addition, City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas, as per map or plat of
said addition of record in the office of the
County Clerk, Jefferson County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, on the 1st day of July, A.D., 1947, the City of
Beaumont, for itself and as Trustee for the State of Texas and the
County of Jefferson, purchased said abovedescribed property at public
auction in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien; and,
WHEREAS, on the 1st day of July, A.D., 1947, C. H. Meyer, Sheriff
of Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed and delivered unto the City
of Beaumont for itself and as Trustee for the State of Texas and the
County of Jefferson a tax deed to the above described property in satis-
faction of said judgment -and tax lien, which deed was recorded in Vol.
674, page 467, Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas, on the 9th day
of September, A.D., 1947; and,
WHEREAS, on the 18th day of March, A.D., 1948, George H. Cassidy
and wife, Mrs. Andora Cassidy, offered to purchase q11 of the right,
title, interest, claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont in the
above described property for the sum of One Thousand and 00/100 ($19000.00)
Dollars; and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission is of theopinion that such -sale is.
for the best interest of the City of Beaumont and should be consummated:
Now, therefore, be it ordained by the City Commission of the City
of Beaumont that the aforesaid offer to purchase the abovedescribed
property is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Beaumont,
the State of Texas and the County of Jefferson a quitclaim deed conveying
unto George H. Cassidy and wife, Mrs. Andora Cassidy, all of right,
title, interest, claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont in
the above described property derived by reason of said Sheriff's deed.

Dollarso cash in hand paid to the City of Beaumont. the State of Texas
and County of Jefferson by George H. Cas.,Ady and, wife, Mrs. Andora
Cassidy,, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledg-ed and confe,seed, has
quitclaimed 'and by these presents d6esquitolain unto the said George
H. Cassidy and wife, Mrs. Andora Cassidy all of the right, title, inter-
ests claim; estate and demand of the City of Beaumontj the State-qf
Texas and County of Jefferson in and to the following described property,

To have and to hold the above released -right, titles, interest, claim,
estate and demand of the' City of Beaumont, the 'State of Texas and
County;. of Jefferson unto the said George H. Cassidy and,
wife, Mrs.
