AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING OFFER OF
W. G..EASON TO PURCHASE CERTAIN
PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING PROPER
CITY OFFICERS TO EXECUTE A1dD
DELIVER QUITCLAIM DEED TO PURCHAS-
ER - OF SAME, .. -

- L�7HEREAS, on the 12th day of October, A.D., 1939, the City of
Beaumont recovered a tax judgment against George C. O'Brien and
Estella H. O'Brien, and the foreclosure of a tax lien upon the
following described property, to -wit;
Lots 8, 9,. and 10, in Block 2, of -the
Jersey Farm Addition to the City of
Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, as
per map or plat of said addition of
record in the office of the County Clerk,
Jefferson' County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of January, A.D., 1940, the' City of
Beaumont purchased said abovedescribed property at public auction in
satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien; and,
WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of January, A.D., 1940, al. W. Richardson,
Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed, and delivered unto
the City of Beaumont a tax d eed to the abovedescribed property in satis-
faction of said judgment and tax lien, which deed was recorded in
Vol. 476, page 196, Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas, on the
16th day of March, A.D., 1940; and,
WHEREAS, on the 9th,day of February, A.D., 1948, 17. G. Eason,
offered to purchase all of the right, title, interest, claim, estate,
and demand of -the City of Beaumont in the abovedescribed property for
the sum of Nine Hundred and 00/100 ($900.00) Dollars; and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission is of the opinion that such sale is
for the best interest of the City of Beaumont and should be consummated:
Now, therefore, be it ordained by the City Commission of the City
of Beaumont that the aforesaid offer to purchase the above described
property is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Beaumont
a quitclaim deed conveying unto W. G. Eason all of the right, title,
interest, claim, estate, and demand of the City of Beaumont in the
abovedescribed property derived by reason of said Sheriff's deed.
