AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND
ABANDONING OF _ AN. ALLEY. IN. BLOCK TEN t(10) OF
McFADDIN FIRST ADDITION. TO_ THE. CITY OF BEAU-
MONT, . ACC ORDING. TO . THE C I1TY. MAP THEREOF OF
THE. CITY OF.BEAUMONT.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by the property owner of
the property located in Block 10, McFaddin First Addition to
the City of Beaumont, according to the City map thereof of
the City of Beaumont, has been presented to the City Commission
of the City of Beaumont requesting that the alley extending
through Block 10 of the McFaddin First Addition, be vacated
and abandoned; and,
WHEREAS, said petition has been referred to the City
Planning and Zoning Commission for examination and approval
and the sante has been approved by the said Commission; .and,
WHEREAS, said petition has been duly canvassed and
examined by the City Commission and has been found to have been
signed by all the property owners adjacent to said alley, and
it appearing to the City Commission that the request of the
property owner should be granted and that an ordinance should
be enacted vacating and abandoning said alley;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COM-
MISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT
that said alley located in Block 10, McFaddin First Addition,
be and the same is hereby authorized to be vacated and aban-
to
doned, and that the title to such alley shall revert/and become
the property of the owner of the property bordering on said
alley as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Commission this ';104 day of Febru-
ary, A.D. 1948.

by M'r. Stone 'and pass6d,
"A motion was made by llir. Stone that the Pldm-iinr, and Zoning Commission
reco-mmend to -rho City. Gom_Tission that a franchise be given to the Santa
Fe Railroad to operate a. -spur track across Gladys and Averill Streets
to serve Block 10 of �c!.?addin First Addition. This motion was:: seconded
by Mr. Withers and barric'-d unanimously.

and bear any cost for drainage necessitated by the,installation-of this
railroad. This motion was -seconded by Mr. -Stone and passed-."

The undersigned, being the sole owner of all the
property located in Block Ten (10) of the McFaddin Addition to
the City of Beaumont, hereby respectfully petitions that the
alley located in Block Ten (10), McFaddin Addition, BE CLOSED
in the manner as permitted by the statutes of the State of
Texas, and that such alley become the absolute property of the
ownersof the land in said Block adjacent and abutting on such
alley.
