HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 28-R0 Lot Fifty Two ( 52 ), in Block Six (6 ), of the O'Btien Addition to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, as per map and plat of said addition of record in the office of. the -County Clerk of said county; and Whereas, on the 2nd day of January, A.D. 1940, the City of Beaumont purchased said above described property at public auction, and W. W. Richardson, Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed and delivered unto the City of Beaumont a tax deed to the above-described property in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien, which deed was recorded in Vol. 476 page 196 of the Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas, on the. 16th day of March, A.D. 1940; and Whereas, said tax judgment provided that the said George C. O'Brien and Estella H. O'Brien, or anyone having an interest therein, might redeem said property within two (2) years from the date of sale; and whereas said property was not redeemed by said George C. O'Brien and Estella H. O'Brien or anyone having an interest therein within said two years; and Whereas, on the 17th day of September, A.D. 1945, Erin O'Brien offered to purchase all of the right, title, interest, claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont in and to all of the property above described for the sum of Two Thousand Six Hundred Eighty Five & 89/100 Dollars (62,685.89); and Whereas, the City Commission is of the opinion that such sale is for the best interest of the City of Beaumont and should be con- summated. Now therefore, Be it Ordained by the City Commission of the City of Beaumont; That the aforesaid offer to purchase the above described prop - erty is hereby accepted,'and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Beaumont a quitclaim deed conveying unto Erin O'Brien all of the right, title, interest, claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont in the above described property derived by reason of said Sheriff's Deed. O'Brien, in the sum of Four Hundred Forty Nine & 14/100 Dollars ($449.14), together with interest from the date of said -judgment, and costs, and the foreclosure of.a. tax lien upon the following described property, to -wit: Lots Seventy Nine (79) and Eighty (80), in Block Eleven (11), of the Langham Addition to the City of B,.=aumont, Jefferson County, Texas, as per map and plat of said addition of record in the office of the County Clerk of said county; and Whereas, on the 12th day of Octob�,r, A.
