HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 25-RA -n Ordinance An Ordinance Accepting Offer of Miss Eliza Hillebrandt to purchase certain property and authorizing proper city officers to execute and deliver quitclaim deed to purchaser of same: Preamble Whereas, on the 31st day of October, A.D. 1944, the City of Beaumont recovered a tax judgment against Miss Eliza Hillebrandt in the sum of Three Hundred Sixty Two & 07/100 Dollars (4362.07)9 together with interest from the date of said judgment, and costs and the foreclosure of a tax lien upon the following described property, to -wit: Lot Five (5) in Block Two (2), of the Stockholm Addition to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, as per the map and plat of said addition of record in the office of the County Clerk of said County; and Whereas, on the 5th day of June, A.D. 1945, the City of Beau- mont purchased said above described property at public auction in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien; and Whereas, the said tax judgment provided that the said Miss Eliza Hillebrandt or anyone having an interest therein, might re- deem said property within two (2) years from the date of sale; and Whereas, on the 23rd day of June, A.D. 1945, W..W. Richardson, Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed and delivered unto the City of Beaumont a tax deed to the, above described property in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien, which deed was recorded in Vol. 586 page 432, of the Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas, on the 3rd day of August, A.D. ' 1945; and Whereas, on the 16th day of September, A.D. 1946, Miss Eliza Hillebrandt offered to purchase all of the right, title, interest, claim, estate and demand of the City of Beaumont in the above de- scribed property for the -sum of Two Hundred Thirty Three & 07/100 Dollars ($233.07); and Whereas, the said Miss Eliza Hillebrandt paid to the City of Beaumont the sum of Two Hundred Thirty Three & 07/100 Dollars ($233.07) as earnest money in connection with said offer to purchase the above described property; and The State of Texas ) County of Jefferson ) Knovv all Men by these Frese:nts: That the City of Beaumont, a municipal corporation of -Jefferson County, Texas, acting' herein by and through its Mayor and City Clerk, hereunto- duly author-ize6 by Ordinance of the City Comrriission,, .a certified copy of Which ordinance is attached hereto and marked ''Exhibit Afi, for and in consideration of the 'sum of Two Hundred Thirty Three &€37/100 bollars 0233.07-) cash in hand paid to the City of Beaumont by miss Elia Hillebrandt,. the receipt of which is hereby -acknowledged and confessed,, has quit- claimed and bV those presents doesquitclaim unto the said Reiss Eliza, Hillebrandt, of tha vounty of Jefferson, State of Texas, -,all of the right, title, intere;a;t, claim, estate and demand of the city of Beaumont in and to the *following described -property, to -wit: Lot Five (5) in Block two ' (2), of the Stock h,uIm Addition to -the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, as per the map and plat of said addition of record in the office of the County Clerk of said County, and further reference is here made to the deed to 'said property from, Miss Eliza Hillebrandt, by Sheriff, to the City of Beaumont, recorded in Vol. 586 Jefferson page 432, Heed Records of County, Texas, with all and singular the right, title, interest, claim,-estaAe and denand of the- City of Beaumont in and to the hereditaments and a.p.� purtenances thereto belonging, or in anywise pertaining.
