ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABAN-
DONING A PORTION OF 23RD STREET FROM
'WASHINGTON BOULEVARD SOUTH TO HITTBRANDT
BAYOU, PROVIDING THAT A GENERAL UTILITY 994018
EASE= IS RETAINED, IN THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AS
DESCRIBED HEREIN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT that certain portion of 23rd Street from Washington Boulevard South
to Hillebrandt Bayou described as follows:
BEING all of that portion of 23rd Street
lying South from Washington Boulevard
and North of the relocated channel of
Hillebrandt Bayou and being out of Lot 1,
Block H, of the T. H. Langham Estate Sub-
division, in the J. W. Bullock Survey,
Abstract No. Seven (7), according to the
map or plat of record in Volume 3, Page
183 of the Map Records of Jefferson County,
Texas, and the dedication of that portion
of the said 23rd Street according to
Volume 400, Page 428 of the Deed Records
of Jefferson County, Texas.
be, and the same is hereby, vacated and abandoned, and that title to such
property shall revert to and become the property of the persons entitled
thereto, as provided by law; providing,however, that the hereinabove des-
cribed tract of land is expressly retained by the City of Beaumont for
general utility purposes only, it being the intent of this ordinance to
abandon said tract of land as a street but to retain the said tract for
general utility purposes only; that title to such property, other than
the rights retained by the City of Beaumont herein, shall revert to and
berme the property of the persons entitled thereto, as provided by law.
