Amending Article 818 Chapter 39 of 'the Revised Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont As amended by an Ordinance adopted February 21st 1912, and repealing all ordinances in conflict herewith. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS- SECTION EXAS. SECTION I. That Article 818 Chapter 39 -of the Revised Code or Ordinances of the City off Beaumont, as amended February 21st, 19129 be and the same' is hereby amended so that said Article shall hereafter read as follows, to -wit: "ARTICLE 818. ow Street car ,ll�Wstop on the near. side of the street crossing to discharge or to receive ,passengers. i -ow South bound cars of the traction.eompany on Pearl Street shall `stop on the near side of Collage Street at the point where t the switch' 4s to be turned, and west bound Calder and Magnolia cars shall stop .on -the near side of Magnolia at the Point of the switch." SECTION I I . All ` ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith .are hereby repealed. SECTION- III. This ordinance shall go into full force and effect from and after its lawful passage and publication, Passed this the y ith day of September, A.D. 1916. Section 3. BE IT ORDAIFED BY THE CITY COTJFjCIL OF THE CITY OF BE'AUMON T; -SECTION ONE - That street ca.xs on paved. streets shall stop 1 on the near side of the street crossings to discharge or receive passengers. South bound cars of the Beaumont Traction Company on Pearl Street shall stop on the near side of College Street at the point where the switch is to be tuxned, and west bound Calder and Magnolia cars shall stop on the near side of 11agnolia Avenue at the point of the switch. North bound intexurban cars shall not stop at Crockett Street.. - - --SEC TI ON- TWO--- - Any person operating any street car who violates any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction in the corporation court shall be fined in any sum not more than two hundred dollars. -SECTIOV THREE' - All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. � - SEC T IM F OUR- Whereas,�fAthat t1-2 present system of -i operation of cars on paved Streets is a menace to traffic, creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity exists, necessitating the suspension of the rule requiring ordinances to be read at three.. regular meetings.
