Amend in I g Section',ll of an Ordinance adopted
April 21st, 1914, and amended June 2nd, 1914,
and October 5th, 1915; relating to the Water
Works Department, -and declaring an emergency.,
BE IT ORDAINED BY TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT$
TEXAS:
SECTION I
That section 11 of an Ordinance entitled, "An
Ordinance creating a Board of Water Commissioners for.
the City of Beaumont, etc.," adopted by the City Council
of the City of Beaumont Apr il.. 21 st , 1914, and ame nde d
June. 2nd, 1914, and October 5th, 1915,be.:-and the same,
is hereby amended so as to read as follows :
"SECTION ' ll : That. said Board of Mater Works Commissioners
shall file a written report with the City Council quarterly
by the second meeting of the .City Council in the second
month succeeding the quarter for which said.report is made,
containing a statement of all the revenues collected
and disbursed dur ing the quarter for which said report is
made, which s'ald report shall be signed by the President
or Vice President of said Board, and countersigned by -the
Secretary of satd Board, with the seal of the said Commissioners
impressed thereon."
SECTION 2.
WEEREAS, owing to the fact that under the or i'ginal
ordinance it As impossible for the commissioners. to file
an accurate report by the second meeting of the City,. Council
in the month succeeding the quarter .for which the report is
made, _.and,

WHEREAS, by granting said Commission until.
the second. meeting of the City Council in the second
month succeeding the quarter for which the report, i.s
made,_ said commission will be able to file a more
accurate report and there is now no ordinance to provide
for seme, and an emergency and imperative , public
necessity exists, m cessitating the suspension of the-" .
rule requiring ordinances to be read at three separate
meetings. Said rule is, therefore hereby suspended.
