BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TAE CITY . OF BEAUT�.ONT , TEXAS. %_FCTIOTdI. --- -- - - - That it shall b,e .unlawful for any person or persons to use or carry around in any public places in the city of Beaumont any slap sticks, feather ticklers, bladders, return rubber balls, play- whips or other similar devices. SECTION I I . Any person violating Section I. of this Ordinance shall bemisdemeanox and upon conviction the Corporation Court of City of Beaumont shall be fined in any sum.:. not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars. -ULC TION The fact that the use of slap sticks, feather ticklers, bladders, return rubber balls, play whips and other similar de- vices. in public places and particularly on the-. bi.r grounds of the South Texas State Fair during its anrua� fair causes much disturbance of the peace 'and the fact that -preservation of the peace among the large number of visitors that will be in the City of Beaumont during said annual fair justifies the - pro-hibition of the using; of the devices named herein, creat an imperative public emergancy necessitating; the suspension of the rule requiring an Ordinance to be read at three successive meetings.- Said rule is therefore hereby suspended and this Ordinance shall go into full effect and. force frors and after its passage and lawful publication.
