ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
78-17 TO REPEAL PROVISIONS PROVIDING FOR A
JOINT ELECTION WITH THE SOUTH PARK INDEPENDENT
SCHOOL DISTRICT AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
WHEREAS, in accordance, with the City Charter of the City
of Beaumont and the laws of the State of Texas, on the 14th day of
February, 1978, the City Council of the City of Beaumont enacted
Ordinance 78-17 which called a regular general municipal election to
be held in the City of Beaumont on April_.l, 1978,and further provided
that said election should be held jointly with the Beaumont Independent
School District and the South Park Independent School District; and,
WHEREAS, the South Park Independent School District
withdrew from said joint election;
NOW, TIEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:

THAT Ordinance No. 78-17 be, and the same is hereby, amended by
removing frau the caption the reference to a joint election --to be
held with the South Park Independent School District and omitting
from said ordinance 78-17 the entirety of Section 10 which said section
dealt with the agreement between the South Park Independent School
District and the City of Beaumont for the holding of a joint election.
Said ordinance 78-17 is also amended to remove Exhibit "B", the
election order of the South Park Independent.School District Board of
Trustees and all its attachments.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
