ORDINANCE NO.
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABAN-
DONING A FIFTEEN FOOT (15') ALLEY, PROVIDING
THAT A GENERAL UTILITY EASEMENT IS RETAINED,
IN THE W. W. CHAISON ADDITION, BEAUMONT,
JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AS DESCRIBED HEREIN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT that certain fifteen foot (15') alley described as follows:
Being a fifteen foot (15') by four
hundred twenty-six (426') alley
running in a north/south direction,
and located in Block 12B of the
W. W. Chaison Addition, said alley
being bordered on the east by Lots
1-8, Block 12B, W. W. Chaison Ad-
dition, on the west by Lots 9-16,
Block 12B. W. W. Chaison Addition,
on the north by the south right-
of-way line by Lavaca Street and
on the south by the north right-
of-way line of Irby Street,

be, and the same is hereby, vacated and abandoned, and that title to
such property shall revert to and become the property of the persons
entitled thereto, as provided by law; providing, however, that the
hereinabove -described tract of land is expressly retained by the City
of Beaumont for general utility purposes only, it being the intent of
this ordinance to abandon said tract of land as an alley but to retain
the said tract for general utility purposes only; title to such
property, other than the rights retained by the City of Beaumont herein,
shall revert to and become the property of the persons entitled thereto,
as provided by law.
