ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PRD - POSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF BEAUK)NT, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Ccr-+-i nn 1 On the 7th day of February, 1978, at 10:45 o'clock a.m. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Beaumont, Texas, the City Council will hold a public hearing giving all inter- ested persons the right to appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of Beaumont, Texas, of the property described in Schedules A through E attached hereto and made a part hereof. nn 7_ The City Manager of the City of Beaumont is authorized and directed to cause notice of such public hearing to be published once in a newspaper having general circulation in the City and in the ter- ritories described in Schedules A through E not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public hearing all in accordance with the Municipal Annexation Act (See Chapter 160, Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular Session, 1963; complied as 970a, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes.) Section 3. The importance of this ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity that the rule requiring ordinances to be read at three separate meetings be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, and the ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption.
