AN ORDINANCE Entitled an ordinance to prohibit any person, firm or corporation from opening his place of business on Sunday for the purpose of selling or offering for salegroceries, vege-� tables, meats, fish, oysters or poultry of any kind; providing for exemptions;- prescribing a penalty for the violation thereof and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIM CITY OF BEAUMONT / Section 1. Any person, firm or corporation who shall open his place of business on Sunday for the purpose of selling or offering for sale groceries, vegetables, meats, fish, F n oysters or poultry of any kind shall be deemed guilty of•'-" a misdemeanor and be subject to the penalty hereinafter prescribed. Section II.. t The above provision shall not apply to the kehcrs of hotels, boarding houses and restaurants.. Section III. Any person found guilty of violating the provisions of this ordinance shall upon conviction in the corporation court be fined in any sum not less than $20.00 nor more than $50,00. Section IV, VorHEREAS, there is now no ordinance of the city of Beaumont or lags of the State of Texas prohibiting persons, firms or corporations from opening their place of business on Sunday for the purpose of selling or offering for sale groceries, vegetables, mento, fish, oysters or poultry of any kind and 1 Hon.
