Granting to the Gulf, Beawnont & Kansas City
Sout-here Railway, -its__successors, or, ass'Agns, the right
s.nd y)rivilega to construct, lay, and maintain a side, or
snitch track of standard gua,ge, over and across Railroad
Avenue, to connect their track with a switch track to a
point where it enters the north half ' of block fifty-five
(55) of ,the Van Wormer Addition, and to operate its 'tra-
iaz wnd caro there on for tan years. Said side, or sNvtich
track to connect with the main track of the .said Gulf.

the east side of Railroad Avenue, and to run in e. geste.r-
ly direbtion across Railroad Avenue to the north-east por-
tion of block fifty --five- (55_.). where- -it -ahall - enter aaid
property as per the recd lino indicated on a, blue -print
attached hereto, and made a part of t:zis ordinance, pres-
cribing the coalitions to be fulfilled before said ordin-
ance shall go _ into effect, and the time limit of said con-
struction of said track.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BEAUMONT:
SECTION. I. That the Gulf, Beaumont & Kansas
City Sou hc;rn Ry.,is.hereby granted the right and privilege
to const2uCu, lay,and waintain over and across Railroad Ave.,
in the City of Baawaont, a side, or switch track of stEUI -d
and to opsra.te its trains and cars thereon for a per-
iod of tan years. S-s,id side, or switch track is a continua, --
tion of a track no'w existing. in the rear of blocs t•aenty-t:;o
(22) of the Van Wormer Addition, and which is fourteen feet
from the main line of the Gulf, Beaumont & Kansas City South-'
ern" Ry.,to the Crockett Street depot, and -which runs in a
ae terly direction across Railroad Avenue, :there it erste>=s

the north portion of block °fifty-five (55) of the Van

SECTION II. The side. or .s.witch -track con-
atructed under t1iis ordinance shall be used only as an
industrial track; it being understood that the corist-ruc-
tion of said. track'i�_is only for the purpose of extendiiig
the main track.
SECTION III•. No cars of any kind shall be
allowed 'to- stand on the portion of said 6witch track, which
is in the pubic streets of the City of Beaumont.
SECTION IVt . The,grantee hFreunder shall.
keep up and 'maintain. -a-- cross i.ng- over---sa-id track :yet sfactory -
to the City Engineer of the City of BeaurAont, and upon, the
failure of said grantee at any time to keep said'cros:ing and
said switch track in a condition satisfactory to the City Eng-
ineer, the City of Beaumont shall have the right to remove said
track from its streets and to dollect the cot-ts thereof from
the grantee herein.
SECTION V. The foregoing righty and privileges
are granted upon the expr as condition that said grantUe, its
successors, or assigns, shall within thirty (30) days after the
final passage.'of this ordinance file with the City Secretary its
written acceptance of this ordinance.
SECTION VI • unless the grantee, its aucceosors,
or assigns, if it accepts this ordi.iance,construct, lay, and
have completed the track herein stipulated, aithin one hundred
and twenty (120) days, after the final passage and publication
of this ordinance, then same shall be null and void and of no
force and effect.

to the Charter and Ordinances of the City of Beaumont,, and
all future Charters, and Ordinances that may be passed there—
under.
SECTION VIII • This ordinance shE:11 go into effect
from and after its' passage; filing of the acceptance, and
publi'cation,' and shall continLie for a period of ten (10) yeaxs,
unless annulled sooner as provided in said ordinance,
passed tris the � day of 18.
