Providing for the levying assessing, and .
collecting. of taxes for the yeux 19141 for the purpose of
providing a sinking fund to .meet the payment of a bonded
indebtedness of the City of Beaumont, and for, the accruing
intere st ther'eon; providing far the support of. the 'public
schools .of the city; to repair and improve thq streets, alleys,
and public squares; to deet the current expenses of the city
of Beaumont`, to provide for. the pirchasing, constructing,
maintaining' operating and owning the public .parks to pro-
vide a sinking fund to meet the payment of the bonded indebted-
ness of -the Mater Works System, and of the accruing interest
thereon; to tafl occupati:.ns and callings made taxable by the
State of Texas, and to collect on all able bodied male citizens
over twenty-one and uncle= sixty years of eige
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TNS. CITY OF BEAUMO T:
Section 1.
That there is hereby levied and shall be
assessed and collected f or the year 1915, the following
taxes on all -or operty situated within the corporate limits
of the 6ity of eaumor_t , Texas, made taxable by lav;F, to- -i
of the City- ovei.n7e77 , 1 r general purposes, Thirty-
nev (.3 cents on each One Hundred 0100.00) Dollars valu-
at ion.
For the puppor t and maintenance of public free
schools, twenty -rive ( .25) , cents on each .One Hundred (q`1C0.00 )
Dollars valuation.
For the purpose of repairing and maintaining ,the
streets, alleys, public squares and bridges of the city,
Thirsty (.30) Cents on each One T_undr5d" (%;')100.00) Dollars valu-
atior -, .
For the purpose of paying the accruing interest and.
to provide a sinking fund for the payment. of'the bonded.indebed-
ness of the city, forty- 14Z

For the purchasing, constructing, maintenance and-
operating

and .to provide a sinking fund for the payment of th bonded
indebtedness of the Water `,"Orks ' System,. eighteen (., 8%�cents
on each one Fundred (;;x100..00) Dollars valuation.
Secti on 2.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinance s in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Se cti on 3.
The fact that the ordinances of the City of
Beaumont require the, city council to .levy the rate of taxation
for 'the current year at its -first regular meeting in M.a, o'
said year, creates an erm rgency end imperative public necessity,
necessitating the suspension of the uule requtaring ordinances
to be read at three regular Meetings. Said rule is. therefore
suspended and this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after its lawful passage and publication.
