ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING A
PORTION OF MILAM STREET BETWEEN MAIN STREET AND
PEARL STREET, PROVIDING THAT A GENERAL UTILITY
EASEMENT IS RETAINED, IN THE ORIGINAL BEAUP40NT
TCWNSITE, BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AS
DESCRIBED HEREIN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT that certain portion of Milam Street located between Main Street
and Pearl Street described as follows:
BEING a sixty-one and eleven hundredths foot
(61.1111 by three hundred foot G91) portion
of Mil.am Street right-of-way running between
the Southwest line of Main Street and the North-
east line of Pearl Street, and being bounded on
the Southeast by Block 9 of the Original Beau-
mont Townsite, and on the Northwest by Block 10-
of
Qof the Original Beaumont Townsite, as per map
or plat of said addition on file in the records
of the County Clerk of Jefferson County, Texas;
be, and the same is hereby, vacated and abandoned, and that title to such pro-
perty shall revert to and becone the property of the persons entitled thereto,
as provided by law; providing, however, that the hereinabove described tract
of land is expressly retained by the City of Beaumont for general utility pur-
poses only, it being the intent of this ordinance to abandon said tract of land
as a street but to retain the said tract for general utility purposes only; ti-
tle to such property, other than the rights retained by the City of Beaumont
herein, shall revert to and become the property of the persons entitled thereto,
as provided by law.
