ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BUDGET OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT FOR THE FISCAL PERIOD
CONVIENCING OCTOBER 1, 1976, AND ENDING SEPTEM-
BER 30, 1977, BY TRANSFERRING FUNDS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $5,000.00 FROM THE GENERAL FUND
CONTINGENCY ACCOUNT TO ACCOUNT -NUMBER 79-415;
AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN LITIGATION
('',EAL ENGING THE CONSTITUTIONALITY OF THE
FEDERAL UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION TAX ANIENND-
MENTS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY. OF.BEAUNONT:
Section 1.
That the budget of the City of Beaumont for the fiscal period
commencing October 1, 1976, and ending September 30, 1977, be, and the
same is hereby, amended by transferring the sum of $5,000.00 from the
General Fund Contingency Account to Account Number 79-415. Said transfer
from the General Fund Contingency Account is an unforeseen expenditure
and constitutes an established emergency of the'City of Beaumont.
Section 2.
That the City Attorney be, and he is hereby, authorized to
execute appropriate agreements with the National Institute of Law Officers
for the participation by the City of:Beaumont in litigation attacking the
constitutionality of the Federal Unemployment Compensation Act amendments.
Section 3.
That the appropriate City Official be, and he is hereby,
authorized to payto the National Institute of Municipal Law Officers
Federal Unemployment Compensation Tax Litigation Trust Fund the amount
of $5,000.00.
