ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
BEAIN.CNT SETTING DATES OF EXAMS FOR ELEC-
TRICIAN LICENSES; PROVIDING FOR A DOUBLE
PERMIT FEE UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS;
AMENDING FEE CICS; PROVIDING FOR SEVER-
ABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That Chapter 11, Section 11-19(5) of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby, amended to read as follows:
Section 11-19(5) It shall be the duty of such Board to
pass upon the qualifications of all applicants
for a license as a master electrician, limited
sign electrician, elevator electrician, or a
journeyman electrician desiring to do business
in the City. The Board shall fix the date of
examination for such applicant, which examination
shall be held quarterly each year on the second
Tuesday in each of the months of January, April,
July and October. The Board shall make reasonable
rules relating to the type of examination required
so as to determine the qualifications of applicants.
That Chapter 11, Section 11-28 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Beaumont be, and the same is hereby, amended to read as follows:
Section 11-28
Every person who shall install, cause to
be installed, or permit to be installed, any
electrical wiring, fixtures or equipment, or
shall make any alteration, additions, changes
or repairs within the scope of this code, shall

within forty-eight (48) hours after the
eammeno:ment of such work, make application
for a pen -Lit therefore with the City Electri-
cal Inspector. The permit fee as set out
herein shall be doubled for any jeb that has
continued for 48 hours or more without a permit.
There shall -be one permit for each building for
which rough work for electrical conductors, or
electrical equipment is installed. Accessory
buildings, tourist cottages or group houses
shall not be considered separate buildings when
the work is to be installed as one ccmplete
project, and at one time; except where separate
switches or meter loops.are installed thereon.
That Chapter 11, Section 11-46(e) of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby, amended to read as follows:

That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or -phrase of this
ordinance, or the application of same to a -particular set of persons or cir-
cumstances, should for any reason be held to invalid, such invalidity shall
in no wise affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end
the various portions andprovisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.

Section 5.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
