ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING
STREET RIGHTS—OF—WAY ALL LOCATED IN THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AS MORE PAR—
TICUIARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT those certain street rights-of-way all located in The City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas, and more particularly described as follows:
(1) Market Street from Gilbert Street west to
Forsythe Street;
(2) College Street from Main Street north to
the Southern Pacific and Atchison, Topeka and
Santa Fe Railroad right-of-way;
.(3) Wall Street from Main Street north to the
aforementioned railroad right-of-way;
(4) Forsythe Street from Main Street north to
the aforementioned railroad right-of-way; and,
(5) Cypress Street northwest from its intersec-
tion with Main Street and Forsythe Street to its
intersection with Hickory Street (previously aban-
doned);
be, and.the same are hereby, vacated and abandoned, and'that title to such
property shall revert to and become the property'of the persons entitled there-
to, as provided by law;,providing, however,.that the hereinabove tracts of land,
are expressly retained by The City of Beaumont for general utility purposes only,
it being the intent.of this ordinance to abandon said tracts of land as street
rights-of-way.but to retain the said tracts for general utility purposes only;
title to such property, other than the rights retained by The City of Beaumont
herein, shall revert.to and become the property of the persons entitled thereto,
as provided by law.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of The City of Beaumont this the 19th day of
April, 1977.
