ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 42,
SECTION 42-44 BY ADDING A NEW SECTION "(f)"
PROVIDING CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS FOR A
"LOCAL INDUSTRIAL STREET;" PROVIDING FOR
TBE AMENDMENT OF. THE OFFICIAL STREET CON-
STRUCTION STANDARDS OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING
FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAMD BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That Chapter 42, Section 42-44 of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Beaumont, Texas, be and the same is hereby, amended :to
add a new section 42-44(f) to read as follows:
(f) Local Industrial Street - A "local industrial street" is
a street designed to accommodate the increased
volume movements, turning movements and truck
traffic created by the use of adjacent land
and to carry traffic to arterial streets.
Local industrial streets as required shall be
constructed by the developer of adjacent land.
The City shall accept local industrial streets
for maintenance and operation upon a determination
that they have been constructed in conformance
with the City standards. The right -of --way re-
quired for local industrial collector streets
shall be sixty(60) feet in width. The pavement
width of local industrial streets shall be twenty-
eight (28)feet from face to face of curb. Drainage
shall be underground as required to serve the
development, and curbs and gutters of Portland
Cement Concrete are required. Sidewalks are re-
quired only in the vicinity of schools. On street
parking will be permitted on local industrial streets.
Parking shall be provided by adjacent property owners
abutting the local industrial street.

That .the appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to
amend the street construction standards of the City of Beaumont by adding
thereto plates 3A and 9R detailing the construction standards for local
industrial streets.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of
persons or circumstances, should for any reason be held to be invalid,
such invalidity shall in no wise affect the remaining portions of this
ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this
ordinance are declared to be severable.

All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
