AMENDING CRAFTER 12, SECTION 12-19(4) AND 12-19(5), BY REDUCING THE NUMBER OF POSITIONS IN GRADE IV AND INCREASING THE NUMBER OF POSITIONS IN GRADE V BY ONE (1); AND AMENDING THE FISCAL BUD- GET OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT FOR THE PERIOD COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 1976, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER -24,-1977, BY CHANGING THE NUMBER OF POSITIONS IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; PRO- VIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: cor,+-; .,,, i That Chapter 12, Section 12-19(4) and 12-19(5) be, and the same are hereby, amended to read as follows: Section 12-19(4) Grade IV. There shall be seven (7). positions in Grade IV, said positions to include police captains. The base pay of every officer in this grade with five- (5) years or less service, shall be $1,371.00 per month and the base pay of every officer in this grade with more than five (5) years of service shall be $1,424.00 per month. Section 12-19(5) Grade V. There shall be three (3) positions in Grade V, said positions to include police majors. The base pay of every officer in this grade with five (5) years or less service shall be $1,505.00 per month and the base pay of every officer in this grade with five (5) years or more service shall be $1,559.00 per month. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason be held to be invalid, such in- validity shall in no wise affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. -77 9�3/ Section 4.
