ENTITLID AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 40,
SECTIONS 40-9(2) AND 40-16(a) OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEN MONT, TEXAS,
TO INCREASE THE MIN1ML1M CHARGE FOR SERVICE
OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS FROM $2.00 TO $3.00
PER MONTH; INCREASING THE TEST FEE; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE.:IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONI':
That Chapter 40, Section 40-9(2),of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Beaumont, Texas, be and the same is hereby amended to read
as follows:
Section 40-9(2)
Water service to customers outside the city
limits shall be rendered at the following
metered rates: same as inside the city limits,
plus 25% each month. When service is on, a
minimum charge of $3.00 per month shall be made.
Section 2.
That Chapter 40, Section 40-16(a) of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Beaumont, Texas, be and the same is hereby amended to read
as follows:
Section 40-16(a)
Any customer to whom water is furnished through
a meter shall have the right to demand that his
meter be tested for accuracy, and when the cus-
tomer wishes such test made, he shall deposit
with the Water Works Department $10.00 for each
meter he desires to be tested.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of
this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of persons
or circumstances, should for any reason be held to be invalid, such in-
validity shall in no wise affect the remaining portions of this ordinance,
and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are

declared to be severable.
Section 4.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
