ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BUDGET OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT FOR THE FISCAL PERIOD COM-
MENCING OCTOBER 1, 1975, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30,
1976, BY TRANSFERRING $6,011.38 FROM THE GENERAL
FUND CONTINGENCY ACCOUNT TO ACCOUNT NUMBER 414
AND BY TRANSFERRING $85,474.00 FROM THE GENERAL
FUND CONTINGENCY ACCOUNT TO POLICE DEPARTMENT
FUND NUMBER 31.
WHEREAS, it was necessary and in the interest of the
welfare of the .citizens of the City of Beaumont for the City to
hold its general municipal election in compliance with all state
and federal laws; and,
WHEREAS, complying with all state and federal election
regulations resulted in an increased expenditure of $6,011.38
over and above the amount.budgeted for said election; and,
WHEREAS, salary increases in the Police Department
budget resulted from labor negotiations which said salary in-
creases were in excess of the money budgeted for salaries; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the welfare
and safety of the citizens of Beaumont that said salaries be
paid; and,
WHEREAS, the expenditures described herein are an
unforeseen item of expenditure and are an established emergency
of the City of Beaumont,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the budget for the City of Beaumont for the
fiscal year commencing October 1, 1975, and ending September 30,
1976, be, and the same is hereby amended by transferring $6,011.38
from the General Fund Contingency Account No. 79-420 to Account
No. 414 and by transferring $85,474.00 from the General Fund
Contingency Account No. 79-420 to Police Department Fund No. 31.
