WHEREAS, on February 29, 2019, three (3) bids were received for furnishing all
labor, materials, and equipment for the Sherwood Drive, PORGY PniRt ' are, and Helbig
Road Asphalt Resurfacing Project; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont Public Works/Engineering Division evaluated
the bid and found that the bid was over the Engineer's estimate; and,
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of City of Beaumont Public
Works/Engineering Division to reject the bid; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it is not in the best interest of the citizens of
Beaumont to accept the bids for the Sherwood Drive, PiRey Point ono' and Helbig
Road Asphalt Resurfacing Project and that same should be rejected;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the City Council does hereby reject the bids received for the Sherwood
Drive, PORGY PGiRt Lane, and Helbig Road Asphalt Resurfacing Project.
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 19th day of
March, 2019.
