HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 76-63ORDINANCE NO.� ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 76-27 PASSED FEBRUARY 24, 1976, TO PROVIDE FOR TN -1= -FIVE (25) MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY CQMMI=; PROVIDING THE TERM FOR SAID MEMBERS; PROVIDING FOR SEVER- ABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: That Ordinance 76-27 passed February 24, 1976, be, and the same is hereby amended by amending the first paragraph to read as follows: "There is hereby established a Community Development Ad- visory Committee to be composed of twenty-five (25) members who are resident citizens of the City of Beaumont. The members of the Ccm minty Development Advisory Committee shall be appointed by the City Council. Of the 25 members appointed, five (5) shall be appointed to serve a one-year term, ten (10) shall be appointed to serve a two-year term and ten (10) shall be appointed to serve a three-year term; thereafter, the term of office of each member shall be two (2) years. The City Council shall name one (1) of the members as Chairman and one (1) as Vice Chairman. The City Council shall appoint one (1) of its number to serve as. an ex officio member of the committee without vote. Vacancy shall be filled by the City Council for the unexpired term. Members of the committee shall serve without ccopensation." C-4-4 -- 7 That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall in no wise affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumnt this the day of '1976. - Mayor - -2-
